Always ahead; exploring new possibilities and solutions. That's the way of Lumaray. Building an Icon Our first attempt to build an icon is an LED flashlight called FL6. We have high hopes for this product as it will certainly change the way people view flashlights in general, that it is not just a tool but a finely engineered tool that makes a statement and gives new meaning to "fun". By "fun", we mean a product that incites conversation each time it's picked up and makes you want to explore the unique features. The FL6 is jam packed with cutting edge one-of-a-kind features and designed for those who appreciate innovativeness, affordability, and quality. Work of Art or Insane Engineering...or both? When Lumaray first revealed the design for the FL6, manufacturers thought it was a mad idea and said it was impossible to manufacture - let alone costly. They all thought the quick release mechanism was the most unique yet outrageous feature to engineer successfully. But it is a feature that needed to exist due to increased demand for quicker battery changes in tactical applications. As LED platforms continue to evolve toward brighter status, so is the need to consume more energy requiring frequent battery changes. Due to our passion and commitment in LED lighting design can we now unleash to the world the first LED flashlight with a quick release mechanism. The FL6 is born. Why the flashlight? We chose a flashlight to be our first project only because we have seen so many flashlights on the market, yet the only improvement is the LED technology. It basically utilizes some type of battery power in a cylindrical barrel called a handle, a reflector, and a bulb or LED in the center. For decades, this design remains the same which is why we selected the flashlight to be our first challenge - simply because there is a need to improve and update, especially now that LED technology is available and proven consumer worthy.
